ICAR- NISA, Ranchi conducts regular trainings in lac cultivation including ‘Modern methods of lac culture’, In- Campus training on ‘Scientific Methods of Lac Cultivation’, Consultancy on lac cultivation comprising ‘Project formulation’ and ‘technical guidance’.
Besides these, training on ‘Production, processing and utilisation of lac’, Trainer’s training programme on ‘Advance technology of lac cultivation & related aspects’, HRD programme on ‘lac cultivation and processing’, On-Farm training and education on lac culture, On-Farm Motivational / Supplementary training and education on lac culture etc.

3. One day on-farm training
The Institute conducts one day on-farm training on “Scientific lac cultivation and utilization” to different stake holders on demand basis. This is a quick knowledge gain training for stake holders to know about institute and its activities on lac. The topics covered in this training programme is as follows:
- Selection of lac host plants
- Pruning of lac host plants
- Inoculation of brood lac
- Removal of phunki
- Spray of pesticides
- Lac crop harvest
- Scrapping of lac and its marketing
4. Exposure visit to institute (for ½ days)
On demand basis institute also organises exposure visits to students, govt. officials, UG/PG students, farmers, entrepreneurs and many more. This training involves visit to lac museum and institute research farm followed by display of lac films and interactions.
Institute also conducts various training programmes related to primary processing, technology developed by the institute, technology transfer and licensing of NRGs based technologies on demand basis with minimal fee.
